How much are flights to Bali for a wedding?

Cheapest return economy fares we found for a 7-night trip, carry-on only:

From February 2027 (10–17 Feb) July school holidays (3–10 Jul)
Perth about A$290 about A$530
Melbourne about A$430 about A$910
Brisbane about A$530 about A$1,080
Sydney about A$540 about A$950

Fares change daily. Treat these as a guide to the gap between quiet and busy months, not a price you can book. Checked bags usually cost extra on these fares. If the couple has picked a date in the school holidays, book early.

Do guests need a visa for Bali?

Australians can get a visa on arrival, which allows a stay of up to 30 days and can be extended once. It costs IDR 500,000 (about A$40). You can apply online before you fly (the e-VOA) or pay at the airport. Pay only through the official Indonesian immigration website or at the airport counter; unofficial sites charge more.

Indonesia announced plans in August 2026 to raise visa on arrival fees. As of 16 October 2026 the new fees hadn’t taken effect, so check the official site before you travel.

What is the Bali tourist levy?

Every foreign visitor to Bali pays a tourist levy of IDR 150,000 (about A$12) per person, children included, once per trip. Pay it through the Bali provincial government’s official Love Bali website or app before you arrive, and keep the receipt.

What should guests wear to a Bali wedding?

  • Light, breathable fabrics. Bali is warm all year, and many ceremonies are outdoors.
  • Flat or block-heeled shoes. Ceremonies are often on grass, sand or clifftop lawns, where stilettos sink.
  • Something to cover your shoulders if the day includes a temple visit or a Balinese blessing. Venues often lend a sarong and sash.
  • Follow the couple’s dress code. A beach ceremony and a resort ballroom call for different outfits; if the invitation doesn’t say, ask.

Where should guests stay?

Close to the venue. Bali’s traffic can turn a short distance into a long drive, especially in the south. Ask the couple whether they’ve arranged a room rate or a recommended area, and book early for July, August and December.

Who pays for what at a destination wedding?

Guests usually pay for their own flights and accommodation. The couple usually covers the ceremony, dinner and drinks on the day. Some couples help with transport to the venue or a welcome event; if you’re unsure, it’s fine to ask.
