Listing terms for vendors
These terms apply when you list your business on YourWeddingAbroad.com, which is run by Your Wedding Abroad (ABN 14 209 897 137) (“we”, “us”). By ticking “I agree” in the List your business form, you agree to them. Questions: hello@yourweddingabroad.com.
1. What a listing is
- We’re a guide for couples planning a wedding abroad. We show local vendors next to honest price ranges, so couples can contact them directly.
- Couples contact you themselves. We don’t take bookings, handle payments or take a commission from couples or from you on any booking.
- A basic listing is free. We may introduce paid options later (see section 7).
2. Who can list
- You must run, own or be authorised to represent the business you list, and the business must operate in the destination you choose.
- The details you give must be true and up to date: business name, category, area, website or Instagram, contact details and description.
- One listing per business. Tell us if your details change.
3. Recommending other vendors
- When you list through our form, or before you use your Metrics, we ask you to recommend 2 other local wedding businesses you trust.
- Only recommend real businesses you know, and only give details they share publicly or for business enquiries (their business name, website, Instagram, or business WhatsApp number). Don’t include anyone’s private or personal contact details.
- Don’t recommend yourself, a business you own, or a business in exchange for payment or a favour.
- We use recommendations to find and check vendors and to invite them to list. Your name is never shown publicly. If you tick the box allowing it, we may tell a business you recommended that the recommendation came from you.
- A business you recommend may be listed using its public details (see section 5), and may show the Recommended badge (see section 6).
4. Our review
- We check every listing before it goes live, usually within 5 working days. We may ask you for more information.
- We may decline a listing, or remove one later, if:
- details are wrong;
- the business can’t be verified;
- we receive complaints we believe are genuine;
- the listing doesn’t fit the guide;
- these terms are broken.
5. What we show, and your images
- What we show: your business name, category, area, website or Instagram, description, and your badges. If you publish a price, or give us one, we show a “from” price with where it came from and the date. If not, we show “Price on request”.
- Preview image: your card shows your website’s own preview image (the picture link previews use), or an image from your website that we choose. We fetch it once, store a small copy on our side and refresh it about once a month unless we chose it by hand. If there’s no image, we show a category icon. You can send us a different photo.
- Permission: you confirm we may show the images and text you or your website provide, and that you have the right to let us. Ask us to change or remove any image at any time.
- Contact details: we link to your website or Instagram. We don’t show your WhatsApp number on the site.
6. Badges and order
Badges mean exactly this:
- Prices on their website (green tick): your prices are published on your own website. We checked them on the date shown.
- Price confirmed with us (blue tick): you gave us your prices directly, on the date shown.
- No published prices (grey line): we don’t have a price from your website or from you.
- Recommended (handshake): at least one other business listed with us has recommended you. We never show who.
A business can show up to 3 badges, for example both green and blue. Grey never shows with green or blue. We set the price badges from what we can check, and we update them when your prices change or you send us new ones.
Order: in each category, businesses with a price within the couple’s budget come first, then businesses with a price above or below it, then businesses with no published price. We publish this order on the site (“How this list is ordered”).
Badges are free; nobody can pay for one. A badge isn’t a guarantee of any business’s work.
7. Fees
- Listing and Metrics are free today.
- We may introduce paid options later, for example extra visibility in search results. Any paid placement will be clearly marked on the site.
- We’ll tell you at least 30 days before anything you use becomes paid. You can choose not to pay, and your listing then stays at the free level or is removed at your request.
8. Metrics
- If you contact us, we can link your account to your listing. Once you’ve recommended 2 local businesses (section 3), you can see Metrics in My account: visits to our site, the price range couples search for in your category, clicks to businesses in your category, clicks to your own website from our list, and how clicks split across badges.
- These numbers are anonymous totals. They never identify a couple or another business. Some figures only show once enough couples have searched. Don’t try to identify couples from them, and don’t publish them in a way that suggests they’re more than estimates.
9. Your responsibilities
- Your services are your own. Any agreement for a wedding service is between you and the couple. We’re not a party to it.
- Comply with the law: licences, permits and consumer protection law that apply to your business.
- Advertise honestly: prices and descriptions you give us must not be misleading.
- No misuse: don’t misuse the site, for example fake recommendations, fake reviews, scraping or spam.
10. Liability
- What we don’t promise: we provide the guide and listings as they are. We don’t guarantee any number of enquiries, bookings or views, or that the site will always be available.
- The legal limits: as far as the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect loss or lost business arising from your listing. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t be excluded.
- Your responsibility: you’re responsible for claims arising from your services or from details you give us that are untrue.
11. Removing your listing
- You can ask us to remove your listing at any time: use Remove my listing on the For vendors page, or email hello@yourweddingabroad.com. We’ll confirm it’s you first.
- A business listed only because others recommended it can ask for removal the same way. We’ll remove it and won’t add it again.
- How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy.
12. Changes and law
- Changes: we may update these terms. For changes that matter to you, we’ll email you at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to keep your listing after that means you accept them.
- Law: these terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia.
