How we check wedding prices
On this page
Where do the prices come from?
We read the price lists, package pages and menus that Bali venues, caterers, photographers, florists, celebrants and planners publish themselves. We record each price exactly as written, the date we saw it, whether tax and service are included, and a dated screenshot of the page.
We don’t use prices from forums, reviews or other comparison sites, and we don’t invent “average” prices where none are published.
We don’t name the vendors on the site. Some haven’t yet agreed to be listed, and naming them would turn a price guide into an advert. If you think a price is wrong, tell us and we’ll check it against the source.
How many sources sit behind each figure?
| Part of the wedding | Sources | What they are |
|---|---|---|
| Venue hire (ceremony + reception) | 1 | One planner’s published list of 56 ceremony venue packages (“from” prices) |
| Private villa (whole property) | 1 | One villa’s published 2026 rate |
| Catering (dinner, per guest) | 3 | Three caterers’ published menus |
| Photography | 3 | Three photographers’ published packages |
| Flowers and decor | 2 | One florist’s price ranges and one planner’s decor budget guide (2021) |
| Celebrant | 1 | One celebrant’s published 2026 packages |
| Wedding planner | 0 | No Bali planner publishes current fees. Shown as “price on request” |
Where a row has one source, treat it as a guide, not a market rate. We’re adding sources every month.
What do low, typical and high mean?
- Low is the lowest published price we found for that part of the wedding.
- High is the highest.
- Typical is a mid-range published price that matches a standard 50-guest wedding: for example, a full dinner menu rather than canapés, or a mid-length photography package. It isn’t a statistical average; with so few sources, an average would mislead.
How are totals worked out?
The calculator adds up the parts you tick, at the price you choose, for your number of guests.
- Catering is priced per guest, so it rises with guest numbers.
- Flowers and decor rise gently with guests (more tables, more centrepieces).
- Venue hire, photography and celebrant stay the same whatever the guest count.
At our typical prices, a 50-guest Bali wedding comes to A$15,400 (range A$6,900–36,000). With a private villa as the venue instead, the typical total is A$19,300.
Do the prices include tax?
Mostly, yes. Most Bali vendors we checked, including villas, caterers and celebrants, publish prices with tax included. Hotels and resorts often list prices with “++”, meaning tax and service are added on top. We record each price as the vendor publishes it and say where it’s “++”. Our venue hire figures come from a “++” price list, so the final venue cost will be higher than the figure shown.
Which exchange rate do you use?
Prices are converted at the mid-market rate (Wise), 14 Oct 2026: 1 Australian dollar = 12,480 rupiah. Vendors usually quote in rupiah or US dollars, so your final cost in Australian dollars moves with the exchange rate.
You can show prices in Australian dollars, pounds, US dollars or euros (the currency button at the top of every page). One rates table converts them all: €1 = A$1.60 = £0.84 = US$1.12 = THB 37.86 (OFX mid-market (interbank), 21–26 Oct 2026). We update it every month. Converted figures say “about”, and vendor cards keep the price in the vendor’s own currency underneath. Rupiah prices stay tied to the Australian dollar rate above.
What isn’t included?
Our totals cover venue hire, dinner catering, flowers and decor, photography and a celebrant. They don’t include:
- wedding planner fees
- drinks packages and alcohol
- hair and makeup, cake, music, lighting and sound
- legal paperwork, and the village (banjar) fee for private villa parties
- transport, accommodation and flights for you or your guests
How often do you update?
Every quarter, and whenever a vendor tells us their prices have changed. Each update is dated, and we publish a short note on what changed. We only change the “last updated” date when the numbers or the text actually change.
Found a wrong price?
Use the “Report a price” form on this page. Tell us the vendor and where you saw the price. We check it against the vendor’s own published price and, if it’s wrong, correct it and note the change below.

Thanks. We’ll check it against the vendor’s published price.
