How reviews work
Ratings on Your Wedding Abroad come only from couples. Planners can’t buy, edit or hide them.
What can be reviewed
For now, only wedding planners. Reviews of venues, caterers, photographers, florists, celebrants and hair and makeup artists will follow.
Who can review
- Anyone with a free Your Wedding Abroad account (Google or an email sign-in link).
- You confirm that you used or enquired with the planner. Couples who only asked for a quote can review too: how a planner handles an enquiry is useful to know.
- One review per account per planner. You can edit yours at any time; it then shows as edited.
- Your name and email are never shown or shared with the planner.
What we publish and what we remove
We publish every genuine review, good or bad, straight away. We remove a review only if it is fake, spam, abusive or shares someone’s personal details, and we log the reason each time.
Some reviews are checked automatically, for example a review from a brand-new account, several reviews of one planner from the same network in a day, or many reviews from one account in a day. A checked review stays visible while we look at it.
What planners can and can’t do
- Planners can’t edit, hide or pre-approve reviews, and paying us doesn’t change their rating.
- We don’t offer couples anything for a review, and planners must not either. Reviews written for a reward are removed.
- A planner who wants to respond to a review, or thinks one breaks these rules, can tell us through For vendors. We reply by email.
What the badges mean
What the badges mean
- Prices on their website. We checked them on the date shown.
- Price confirmed with us. The vendor gave us their prices directly.
- No published prices. Ask the vendor for a quote.
- Recommended. Other vendors on our list recommend them.
- A business can show up to 3 badges, for example both green and blue. Grey never shows with green or blue.
- Badges are free; nobody can pay for one. A badge isn’t a guarantee of any business’s work, and we never say who recommended a business.
- How the list is ordered: in each category, businesses with a price within the couple’s budget come first, then businesses with a price above or below it, then businesses with no published price. Where couples don’t set a budget (lines showing Price on request), businesses with a price come first, lowest price first.
