What does each budget get you?

Budget What it typically covers
A$10,000 An elopement or a wedding for up to about 10 guests. One all-inclusive package for 10 guests costs A$5,400. At 20 guests the typical cost is A$12,300, so A$10,000 means choosing simpler options.
A$20,000 A typical 50-guest wedding (A$15,400), or 50 guests with a private villa as the venue (A$19,300). A typical 100-guest wedding (A$19,600) fits, with little room to spare.
A$30,000 A typical 100-guest wedding with room for upgrades, or a 50-guest full-wedding package (A$25,600–26,400).
A$50,000 100 guests at the top of our price ranges (A$45,300), with premium decor and a top-end venue.

What isn’t included in these numbers?

  • A wedding planner (price on request)
  • Drinks and alcohol
  • Hair and makeup, cake, music, lighting and sound
  • Flights and accommodation for you and your guests
  • Your legal paperwork at home (how the legal side works)

Leave room for these. At 50 guests, A$20,000 leaves about A$4,600 after the typical wedding costs.

What moves the number most?

  • Guest count. Dinner costs A$37–74 per guest, so every 10 guests adds about A$370–740 in catering.
  • Flowers and decor. The widest range in our data, from about A$1,000 to A$16,000.
  • The venue. Venue hire runs A$1,400–17,700; a private villa is about A$11,800 for the whole property.
  • The date. Several venues publish lower weekday prices, and one planner’s 2026 guide quotes 20–30% discounts in the wet season.

Where can we save?

  • Invite fewer guests. It’s the biggest lever.
  • Choose a weekday or the wet season, and ask each vendor for both prices.
  • Keep decor simple. Bali’s settings do a lot of the work.
  • Use the venue’s coordinator instead of a full planner if your plans are simple.

Where shouldn’t we cut corners?

  • Photography. It’s one of the smaller costs (typical A$1,100) and the one you keep.
  • A rain plan. Make sure your venue has covered space, whatever the season.
  • Written terms. Get inclusions, deposits and cancellation terms in writing before you pay.
