Which area suits us?
- Bang Tao / Laguna: a long bay with an integrated resort complex; upscale and easy for guests.
- Kamala and Surin: calmer and upmarket, with hillside views.
- Kata and Karon: popular beaches with something for every budget; Kata Noi is quieter.
- Nai Harn and Rawai: scenic, less developed south.
- Mai Khao and Nai Yang: quiet and natural, near the airport.
- Cape Panwa and Kalim: quieter capes and bays; Patong is the nightlife centre.
Vendors work across the island, so your venue doesn’t limit who you can hire.
What should we check before booking?
- “++” (10% service + 7% VAT) on top of quoted prices
- Compulsory dinner with a ceremony package at some resorts, and minimum stays
- Outdoor music curfews (9 pm at one resort; 10 pm for bands at one villa)
- Wet-season backup for May–October (best month guide)
- Beach use: don’t fence off public sand; a resort’s own beach deck avoids the question
