How do Phuket weddings get priced?
Most Phuket weddings start from two prices: a resort ceremony package and catering (dinner) per guest. Photo and video, flowers and decor, a celebrant, hair and makeup and a planner are added if the package doesn’t cover them.
- The package usually includes the ceremony venue, a celebrant, ceremony flowers, a small cake and 2–4 hours of photography; most include the bride’s hair and makeup.
- Catering (dinner) is charged per guest on top, usually with a minimum of 20–30 guests. Drinks are extra.

How much is a Phuket wedding per guest?
At typical prices, about A$480 per guest for 50 guests:
- 20 guests: about A$970 each
- 50 guests: about A$480 each
- 100 guests: about A$320 each
How does Phuket compare with Bali?
At typical prices for 50 guests, our Phuket total (A$24,200) is higher than Bali’s (A$15,400). Part of the gap is how they’re counted: the Phuket total includes a planner fee (Bali planners don’t publish fees), and Phuket resort packages often already cover the celebrant, ceremony flowers, some photos and the bride’s hair and makeup. Check what your package includes and untick those lines in the calculator.
What does “++” mean on Phuket prices?
Resorts often add “++”: a 10% service charge and 7% VAT on top, 17.7% in total, as one resort shows by listing both prices. Our figures convert “++” prices to the full amount. Always compare quotes with tax and service included.
What’s not included?
- Drinks
- Resort minimum stays for the wedding party (2–8 room nights by guest count at one resort; 3 nights at another)
- Extra guests at the ceremony beyond the package (THB 850–1,400 per person “++” at one resort)
- Legal registration, if you marry legally in Thailand (legal guide)
- Flights and accommodation
How can we keep the cost down?
- Trim the guest list: catering grows fastest.
- Compare packages: the cheapest published “from” price is less than half the highest.
- Ask about wet-season dates (May–October), when resorts are quieter; see the best month guide.
- Check what the package already includes before paying for extra photos or hair and makeup.
Frequently asked questions
Is A$20,000 enough for a Phuket wedding?
For about 20 guests, yes (typical A$19,400). For 50 guests our typical total is A$24,200, but that counts a planner, flowers, a celebrant and hair and makeup separately; if your resort package already covers those, A$20,000 can work. Drinks come on top.
How much does it cost to elope in Phuket?
From about A$600 for a simple beach ceremony to about A$4,700 for a resort ceremony for two, in the prices we checked.
Is a resort wedding legally binding?
No. Resort and beach ceremonies are symbolic; a legal marriage is registered at a Thai district office.
Do we pay in baht?
Usually. Resorts quote in Thai baht, so your cost moves with the exchange rate. Our conversions use mid-market rates from 21–26 Oct 2026.
